NaNo and me

According to the Nano site I have been doing NaNo since 2006. I’ve had some wins and some loses and skipped years. I tried to write the year I was pregnant and due in November. Needless to say once my water broke, I was not able to complete that year.

I know that there are many people who dislike NaNo. Some people say that we writers should be doing 50K every month or that there is far too much talking and not enough writing at events.

I’m of the opinion that it is a great excuse to schedule more writing time with the family.

Even though everything is so 2020 right now, I am hopeful that this year will be a good NaNo year.

Are you doing NaNo?

  1. I am doing it. At least writing every day.

I am not doing prose so much as writing my novel out as a narrative, like I’m recounting the plot of a book I read or a movie I saw, with the hope that at the end I will have a complete story if not a novel.

I’m not a professional writer I guess, as no one will pay for my fiction, but I can look at the mirror and see a writer if I can finish the story. is my crutch, as always. Hoping for that albatross.
